A Benedictine town, Saint-Mihiel has a remarkable library, and works by the great Renaissance sculptor, Ligier-Richier, who stands alongside Michelangelo.

Commercy, famous for its Madeleine, was the residence of the Dukes of Lorraine for a long time. The town maintains the memory of the last Duke of Lorraine, father-in-law of Louis XV, Stanislas LESCZCZYNSKI, who built the chateau which bears his name.

Vaucouleurs’ past is every bit as glorious, since Joan of Arc’s epic struggle began there. There are several key sites here, including the Porte de France and the museum dedicated to the heroine.
