Presentation :

Located near the Village des deux Métiers (village of the traditional trades and crafts) in Azannes and Soumazannes, 20 mins by car from Verdun and Etain, and 30 mins from Montmédy, the four “Si près des prés” guest rooms provide modern comfort in a warm decor. Each room in the house has its own ambience: reception lounge lit with recessed aquariums and embellished with a mural cascade; convivial dining room with an immense wooden table, fireplace and piano; library lounge, large-screen TV and antique fireplace; delightful conservatory decorated with tropical plants and a pond full of coloured fish. A walled garden and private parking are available to the guests.

Activities :

If you love games, there are numerous possibilities on the premises: a billiard table that can accommodate French, American or English billiards, various board games, darts, ping-pong, badminton, croquet... For a supplement, the gym and “relaxation” room, with sauna and body treatments on booking. Barbecue and sun loungers in the walled garden available for guests’ use. Places to visit nearby: “les dimanches de mai” exhibition in the Village des deux Métiers (village of the traditional trades and crafts) during May; the Muzeray creches in December; the Petitcollin toy factory at Etain; and memorial sites of the ‘14-‘18 war around Verdun. Rambles and bike rides. Ride in a horse and carriage. Booking required. Hunting available with Office National des Forêts (ONF). Booking and permit required.

Specialties :

Traditional cuisine: ham with vermicelli, hake on a bed of leek fondue, chicken with honey, ramekin eggs, Lorraine hotpot and tsigane.
